Angelica Castro

Angelica was born and raised in Santiago de Chile. Castro appeared in Universal Studio’s summer blockbuster film, “The Scorpion King". After a year with E! Entertainment Television, the network started expanding Angelica’s participation. In addition to hosting her show, “Coming Attractions” for E! Latin America, Angelica hosted E!’s coverage of the Academy Awards, Blockbuster Awards, Alma Awards, Latin Grammy Awards among others. She is now achieving her latest goal: “crossing-over” from the Latin market into the United States market - since July 2001, Angelica has been hosting English language shows for E! like “Wild On” and “FYE” among others.

In addition she co-hosted for her first time the 2002 edition of the “Festival de Vina del Mar”, the biggest festival in Latin America, that was seen in more than 35 countries worldwide including the United States where was aired by Univision. On April 28, 2000, Angelica was Master of Ceremonies on one of the main stages at the 11th Annual Fiesta Broadway 2000. This fiesta is a celebration for the Latino community, in honor of the first Cinco de Mayo of the new millennium. The event attracted over 500,000 people, as well as, being broadcast live on Telemundo, Spanish and English language TV news.

From 1992 to the present, Chile’s most important television network Channel 13, has had Angelica host many TV shows and specials. She was the host for eight (8) seasons (1992-1999) of the most successful TV show, “Mas Música”. This show was soon broadcast internationally throughout Latin America because of its overwhelming popularity; it has won nine (9) awards, including “Best Host” and “Best Show”.

Other hosting includes television specials such as Miss Chile, Miss Universe, OTI (International Music Competition), MTV Music Awards Special and the National Awards “APES” honoring excellence in journalism, among others. In 1999 she had her acting debut playing one of the lead roles in the popular TV show “Marparaiso”.

Castro currently lives in Los Angeles California, where she works and studies acting in the Larry Moss Studio.
