Oskar Cartaya is an accomplished musical director and performer.
He has recently released his debut solo album on OYE Records - My Music, My Friends, My Time. When playing his own music live, he is surrounded by the Enclave, which he describes as “a musical play on words, the voice of a culture from within the boundaries of America, and a musical expression played en clavé. Our sound is a gumbo of jazz and funk, Afro-Caribbean percussion and urban street soul attitude."
Cartaya has been an avid supporter of PADRES on many fronts. He has hosted Toy Drives, spearheaded fundraising campaigns for the 'Stand for HOPE!' 5K and has provided musical direction for the 2010 El Sueño de Esperanza Gala.
His ongoing efforts to raise the awareness of childhood cancer has come in various capacities - Competing in the Spike for HOPE Celebrity Volleyball Match and performing at the Annual Holiday Posada just to name a few.
In the coming year Oskar plans to further develop the PADRES music therapy program and tour of the pediatric oncology centers throughout Southern California. It goes without saying that PADRES is proud to have Oskar Cartaya as a Celebrity Ambassador.
