Cristina Perez

PADRES Contra El Cáncer Ambassador Cristina Perez is a nationally recognized immigration lawyer and the current host of 20th Television's/FOX's Emmy Award winning syndicated court show "Cristina's Court." 

In 2007, Cristina was named as one of America’s ten most inspirational women (Siempre Mujer magazine; special introduction by Hillary Clinton).  She is currently the Los Angeles County Bar Association Spokesperson for the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (a position formerly held by Judge Wapner) and was the 70th Anniversary Honorary Chairperson for the Lawyer Referral and Information Service.  In 2005, Cristina was selected as a California’s “Woman of the Year” for her community activities and was named one of America’s top 10 “Latina Advocates,” for making the world a better place for women and Latino’s rights, by the national magazine LATINO LEADERS (National Magazine of the Successful American Latino). 

Cristina was the first television judge ever to crossover from Spanish-language to English-language television.  As the first female television judge to have a nationally syndicated Spanish-language network series, Cristina presided over "La Corte De Familia: where she ruled on cases related to relationships, including physical and verbal abuse, paternity claims, child and spousal support and infidelity.  Enormously popular in the U.S., "La Corte De Familia" was Telemundo/NBC's number two daytime show for four straight seasons.  The program was also aired in 15 countries.  Prior to being the host of "La Corte De Familia," Cristina made her television debut as host of "La Corte Del Pueblo ("The People's Court") on KWHY/Los Angeles. 

Cristina’s is the founding partner of Perez Gonzalez, A Professional Law Corporation and for almost 15 years has provided effective professional counsel in areas of immigration and nationality law.  Cristina’s practice primarily focuses in assisting foreign professionals in the technology, business, investment, athletic and entertainment fields, in non-immigrant and immigrant visas, labor certifications, family petitions, and naturalization.  Her clientele includes professional athletes, entertainers, business, and corporate executives.  Perez Gonzalez also provides comprehensive services in business/corporate and civil law. 

In the legal community, Cristina remains quite active.  She is a member and served as the Chair of American Immigration Lawyer's Association (AILA).  AILA is the foremost national legal association in the immigration field.  Cristina is also active in the Mexican American Bar Association (MABA) where she served as its President (2002-03).  MABA is one of the largest and most prominent Latino bar associations in the nation.   

Moreover, Cristina is a leader in the community.  She actively participates in local affairs as well as educating people on obtaining permanent residence and citizenship in the United States.  She works closely with several of the non-profit organizations in the community as well as with local Latin American Consulate offices serving as a guest lecturer and speaker in seminars concentrating on immigration law.   

Cristina also frequently lectures and speaks at seminars sponsored by public/community associations, law schools, and professional organizations.  She is also frequently featured on radio and television programs.  Cristina currently is the co-host of weekly segment “Sex In The News” (Playboy Radio, “Afternoon Advice,” Sirius Ch. 198), served as a Special Host on the nationally syndicated show “Conexion Thalia” (ABC Radio Networks) and served as a weekly co-host on Radio UNIVISION and W-RADIO 690 AM in Los Angeles, California.   

Cristina received a Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law and two Bachelors of Arts degrees from UCLA.  She and her family reside in Glendale, California.
