Desperate Housewives Star Eva Longoria Uses Her Celebrity Status to Raise Money for Children with Cancer

Celebrity-Driven Auction Featured on Includes Opportunity to Get Eva's Red Carpet Ready Look with All-Star Glam Squad Ken Paves, Elan Bongiorno and Fashion Police and Stylist to the Stars, Robert Verdi

NEW YORK, NY – SEPTEMBER 20, 2006 - Eva Longoria has won America's heart as everyone's favorite domestic diva. But what many do not know is that she has a passion for charitable causes. As the National Spokesperson for PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and their families, Longoria is using her celebrity status and Hollywood connections to help raise money for the organization through the "Eva Longoria and Friends" Online Auction.

The Eva Longoria and Friends Online Auction gives Longoria fans and PADRES supporters around the world the chance not only to help PADRES, but also to bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as the opportunity to get glammed up by Eva’s own team of All-Star stylists - Ken Paves, Elan Bongiorno and Robert Verdi. Auction packages include, but are not limited to:

  • A walk-on role on Desperate Housewives

  • A $1,000 shopping spree at L.A. boutique Lisa Kline with Eva and her celebrity stylist Robert Verdi. The winner will be featured in an upcoming issue of In Touch magazine while entertainment television news program Extra will tape a behind-the-scenes look at the experience.
  • A batting lesson with Major League Baseball All-Star Nomar Garciaparra
  • The chance to play a game of basketball with your friends on the STAPLES Center court
