Fernando Del Rincón, Univision’s “Primer Impacto” provides inspirational words to PADRES parents, “There is always HOPE” at the 4th Annual Feria de ESPERANZA (HOPE Fair)

On May 20th, PADRES hosted its 4th Annual Feria de ESPERANZA (HOPE Fair) at Woodbury University in Burbank, CA. Over 250 children diagnosed with cancer and their families. The event was hosted by PADRES Latin Market Spokesperson Fernando Del Rincón from Univision’s “Primer Impacto.” The days festivities included a welcome by 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalists Rusty Smith and Maria Garcia; as well as L.A. Avengers Player Rushen Jones. The children rocked out to a history of the blues provided by the International House of Blues Foundation. Family healthcare professionals partnered with PADRES and provided educational workshops and resources on a variety of health and well being topics. The topics ranged from men and women’s physical health, stress management, eating healthy, and childhood cancer education to name a few. Marcia Ramos, Mayor, from the City of Burbank also joined PADRES for the lunch time festivities. The lunch was graciously donated by El Pollo Loco. The day culminated with a Health Fair that was open to the public. Free health screenings and other valuable health information was provided.
