MAGGI® presents PADRES Contra El Cáncer’s Annual Holiday Posada

This past holiday season, the Pacific Edison Community Center in Glendale was magically transformed into an enchanted winter wonderland for more than 300 children with cancer and their families.

Celebrating the season with live entertainment, arts and crafts, holiday family portraits, and a special visit from Santa, families were able to create cherished memories in a festive holiday setting.

The Posada centered around a traditional Mexican holiday meal by Mom’s Tamales, which included tamales, rice, sweet bread and Abuelita hot chocolate. Folk dances by Plaza de la Raza’s Ballet Folklorico troop and music by Mariachi Sol y Mar added to the holiday festivities.

In addition to the on-stage entertainment, activity stations sprinkled throughout the event provided guests with the opportunities to take family portraits with Santa courtesy of Trish’s Photography and Reedy Photoprocess Corporation, paint MAGGI® chickens as well as create picture frames, ornaments and beaded bracelets.

The special night closed with each child receiving a toy donated by our numerous community partners. The families also received goodie bags filled with an assortment of MAGGI® products and a copy of Tu Ciudad magazine.

“Seeing the children and their families’ faces light up when they walked into the event shows what an incredible impact a single night can make,” said Michael Velázquez, CEO of PADRES. “Through generous contributions from MAGGI®, Trish’s photography, Reedy Photoprocess, and our dedicated volunteers and community partners, our families were given a holiday celebration not soon to be forgotten.”
