Over 350 members to enjoy the Christmas Posada for children with cancer and their families.

Los Angeles, CA (December 18, 2004) - Non-profit organization PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES) will hold for the fourth consecutive year their traditional Christmas Posada for their children diagnosed with cancer or other blood disease and their families.

"Our children look forward to this event since in addition to receiving gifts, chatting with Santa and Esperanza, and having plenty of fun, they will be able to forget for a while their difficult and unceasing fight against cancer", said Elvia Barboa, Program Director of PADRES.

The Posada will take place next Saturday, December 18, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles, located at 4650 Fountain Avenue, Los Angeles.

A number of personalities will be in attendance such as Congressman Xavier Becerra, Mexican actor Raul Buenfil, “La Corte de la Familia” judge Cristina Pérez; members of the Board of Directors of PADRES, Santa Claus, Esperanza, and the most important guests: the children and families of PADRES.

Guests to this event will not only have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional Latin fiesta, with dancing, games, arts and crafts, but also interact with other families and guests and taste the traditional delicacies.

Founded in 1985, PADRES Contra El Cáncer mission is to improve the quality of life of Latino children diagnosed with cancer and other blood disorders and their families. Children and families supported by the program have unique needs that other cancer programs are unable to address adequately. The program provides guidance, transportation, social services and emotional support, including the cultural and language sensitivity which ensures that children with cancer and their families have all the necessary resources to fight the disease.
